In flight with the TOXO
In the TOXO you don't need a headset
!
The isolation, the excellent fit of
windscreen , side windows, doors and the perfect soundproof
firewall makes your flight ... cool !
The Jabiru reacts immediately at the
throttle and the aircraft hurries down the runway and after
about a hundred meters it leaps into the air with a
significant nose up attitude depending on your trim. A
touch on the button and the first stage of flaps disappears
and the machine takes up some more speed while it continues
its steep climb.The aircraft has straight away enough
velocity and energy to make a full 180° turn before
reaching the end of the runway.
The standard flight manoeuvers are
performed very smoothly and an overall feeling of security
invades ter cockpit. The impression of flying a race car
passes your mind feeling that the aircraft is capable of
giving you a lot of sensations when you are capable of
handling this kind of flying Ferrari.
In fact the normal flightspeed range -
the green arc starts at 50 knots and ends at 150 ! - is so
large that you imagine to be able to do almost anything
with it. .

During the first approaches one is amazed by
the power of the second and third stage of flaps. The
aircraft puts its nose down very steeply and one has to trim quickly to get the stick back in neutral position.
The
TOXO seems to be designed for (amongst others) very steep
approaches; this is with full flaps, engine idling. Without
flaps shutting down the throttle does not mean a sharp
decent, on the contrary, the aircraft keeps on going
loosing slowly its flight speed, indicationg its good
glide ratio of 16 :1.
Top horizontal speed with the smallest Jabiru
engine is 145 knots.
The TOXO comes either in ready to fly or
advanced kit version.
